Miya is a global water operator oriented at efficiency, driven by the vision of ensuring an abundance of fresh water. Established in 2008 by Shari Arison as part of Arison Investments, Miya specializes in diversified concessions of water and wastewater utilities, and in mega-scale projects of water efficiency (NRW).
Miya believes that maximized efficiency is created by optimizing the operational capacity of water utilities and urban distribution systems. This ensures the abundance of the world's most precious resource - fresh water, which exists naturally in sources worldwide.

Miya's teams commercially maximize water and wastewater concessions, and effectively run pivotal water efficiency projects that save more than 800M liters (211M gallons) of fresh water per day, bringing fresh water to millions of people.

Awards and recognition
Miya has been awarded several prestigious awards for its global water efficiency projects, including IWA Project Innovation Award two years in a row (2013 and 2014), and shortlisted for the prestigious 2014 GWI Performance Initiative of the Year Prize, for our mega-scale projects in the Philippines and the Bahamas. Miya also received the 2010 GWI Project of the Year Award, for our advanced pressure management installation in South Africa, and the 2009 GWI Sustainability Award presented to Miya by former Vice President Al Gore.
In the sphere of concessions, Miya has acquired Portugal's largest water operator, and manages seven utilities through its subsidiary Indaqua.
