Miya among others have donated to the new Intensive Care Unit at Pedro Hispano Hospital in Portugal

Miya, through its subsiduary INDAQUA, the largest Portuguese private operator in the sector of municipal water concessions, is one of the main donors of the new intensive care unit at the Pedro Hispano Hospital, located in Matosinhos. Through the offer of a donation, the company became a "Notable Donor” of the work, inserted in the community where it has its largest municipal operation.

In total, 11 more beds are now available in negative pressure rooms, increasing the response capacity of this unit in combating the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been known that the community of Matosinhos is one of the most affected by the pandemic in Portugal and the Hospital Pedro Hispano is one of the major institutions in the north of the country. In addition to Matosinhos, the Pedro Hispano Hospital also serves the communities of Póvoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde, with a total of 320,000 people.

For Luís Lourenço, Head of Communications of the INDAQUA Group, "since the beginning, we felt strongly connected to the project and after the challenge launched by the Community of Matosinhos, we did not hesitate to contribute. The new Intensive Care Unit at the Pedro Hispano Hospital is now able to receive patients infected with COVID-19.
