MIYA Costa Rica Reaches Milestone of 10,000 Georeferenced Customers to Support Efficient Water Management

As part of the Commercial and Operational Engineering Services for the Reduction of Drinking Water Losses project being carried out for the Costa Rican Institute of Aqueducts and Sewerage (AyA), MIYA Costa Rica has reached an important milestone: 10,000 customers and water meters have been registered and georeferenced.

This achievement marks a significant step toward improving the understanding of the water distribution network. Each mapped connection provides valuable information that helps identify irregular consumption patterns, reduce apparent water losses, and enhance customer service.

Field teams continue working throughout the service area, collecting and updating data to build a more accurate and reliable representation of the system. This information supports better decision-making and contributes to more efficient and sustainable water management.

MIYA would like to thank all the professionals involved in making this milestone possible. Their commitment and dedication are helping build a stronger and more sustainable water future for Costa Rica.
