WSC, Miya reduce non-revenue water loss by 4.1 million gallons per day

We are proud to share a joint press release with the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) in The Bahamas, highlighting the results of our long-term NRW reduction project in New Providence, ongoing since 2013.

This project is one of the most successful performance-based NRW contracts globally, and a flagship in the Caribbean region.

The results are clear:
• Non-revenue water reduced from 56% to ~22%
• Water losses reduced from 6.7 to 2.6 million imperial gallons per day
(≈ 30,500 to 11,800 cubic meters per day)

Beyond the numbers, this has been a long-term, hands-on partnership — working closely with WSC teams to implement data-driven management, improve operational control, and build local capabilities.

As highlighted by Emerciano Lopes, Miya Bahamas Project Manager, the project reflects a shift from reactive operations to a more proactive and structured approach, with strong local ownership already in place. With the project concluding in 2026, WSC is well-positioned to sustain and build on these results, supporting the long-term water sustainability of the island.
